8 Types of Boxes to Best Suit Your Move

When it comes to moving, you want to get the right supplies. Getting free boxes from the local grocery store is nice, but you want boxes that are going to be durable. So here is a guide for those on budget and those who do not really care.

For Those on a Budget

Getting free boxes from a retail store is a really good idea, but you need to know what kind of boxes to get.

Tide Boxes

Asking for boxes that carry laundry detergent is a really good idea. In some cases these boxes have handles and they are also very strong boxes. They would be best for books and heavier items. Asking for these can be tricky since they are not items that are stocked every single day. Make sure to ask in advance.

Banana (and other fruit) Boxes

These are boxes that they will most likely have if you are in a pinch. Fruit is stocked everyday so they are easy to get a hold of. These are not boxes you want to use for really heavy items or your breakables. They have a hole on the top and bottom, so get something long to cover it.

Buying Boxes

Buying boxes is a little different. You cant to get really good boxes but you do not want to pay a lot either. Getting double walled boxes are a bit pricey, but they will better protect your valuables than a one walled box. Get boxes that are the right size as well for the things you need.

Small Boxes

You can get smaller boxes and better protect the things that are really breakable. Having them in their own separate box inside of a big box will be extra protection.

Medium Boxes

These are the boxes you will want a lot of. You may not want a lot of boxes, but it is easier on your back to get ones that are easier for you to carry. Medium moving boxes will be the right size to carry.

Large Boxes

Buying larger boxes are saved for larger items. In most cases people will just place their larger items unboxed and uncovered in the moving vehicle. Getting a large box will help protect the item. Larger boxes are also better to carry your clothes in as well. They even have hanging boxes as well for clothes.

Odd Boxes

If you have any odd items such as posters, you will want to buy the proper boxes for them. Placing them in another box will not fully protect them.

Make sure that when you are packing, you label your boxes when you are finished with them. This way it is easier to unpack them. Get good packing tape as well, you do not want the box to come undone in the moving vehicle. Getting other packing materials such as filler or peanuts is important as well.
